Professional Development

Sport Support Services believes it has implemented a very supportive and successful training and development programme for its instructing staff.

We have an Operations Manager whose role is to focus on all elements of training and continued professional development of staff members ensuring they are knowledgeable and confident in all elements of the job they are being asked to do. We operate a 6 module Internal Training Programme for professional standards and a 3 level delivery award scheme that all staff are encouraged to complete within their 1st year of employment.

We also offer additional training modules in working with children with Special Educational Needs, a module for working with Children with Disabilities and a module for working in Outdoor Adventurous Activities settings. We have a staff mentoring programme available for one to one assistance whenever and wherever staff may need advice and specific support.

We run a regular First Aid Qualification course for our staff, ensuring they have a current qualification and are kept up to date. We offer support and advice on external governing body training programmes to enhance the type of activities they can deliver and their expertise within them.

Regular appraisals and staff meetings ensure that Sport Support Services Management are in tune with their staff views and needs and we endeavour to act quickly to offer appropriate support and training when and where required.
