Sport Support Education & Training can offer a range of accredited awards as part of programmes delivered by them or as stand alone projects.

BTEC Qualifications

Sport Support Education & Training are accredited to deliver and assess a range of BTEC qualifications at both entry level and level 1.

We currently offer the following courses at both award and certificate level, with plans to extend this range throughout 2011;

• Vocational Studies
• Health & Fitness
• Hospitality & Catering
• Personal and Social Development
• Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT

The course delivered to each learner/group of learners will depend on their learning level.

Sports Leaders UK Nationally Accredited Awards

Sport Support Education & Training has a long standing relationship with Sports Leaders UK and have successfully delivered a large number of their awards on behalf of a number of different organisations including schools, Universities, youth services and adult education groups. Sport Support Education & Training have a great understanding of the concept and aims behind the Sports Leaders awards, with their centre course manager consulting as part of the national advisory panel. We are experienced in adapting the delivery to suit different course lengths, learning groups and venues. We can offer the management and administration of a number of Sports Leaders awards as a complete package or individual elements if you prefer.

We currently offer the following Sports Leaders awards;

Level 1 Junior Sports Leaders award
Level 2 Community Sports Leaders award
Level 3 Higher Sports Leaders award
One day certificate in Sports Leaders

FA Junior Football Organisers Nationally Accredited Awards

JFO course is a minimum 6 hour FA certificate course for students 14 – 19 years. The course focuses around mini-soccer, where students learn coaching, the rules, refereeing and all that is involved in organising a festival/tournament. The culmination of the course and assessment is the students having to organise and run their own mini-soccer festival. The course provides students with core organisational and communication skills, . A JFO course can be used in conjunction with the curriculum, and provides exit routes to further involvement within football, ex. coaching (Level 1) or referring.

ASDAN Nationally Accredited Activities Awards

The ASDAN activities award is a versatile alternative accredited award option for young people who are better suited to vocational and practical learning. We can offer credits for this award through a number of sports and outdoor activities, over a period of 10 plus hours. ASDAN awards require the learner to complete a very short and simple book, for which they will receive tutor support.

Sport Support Education & Training can design and deliver a bespoke programme incorporating the ASDAN activity award, but also have it linked to their Active Adventure day and residential camps.

The ASDAN activity awards are delivered in partnership with Bedford Borough Council Integrated Youth Support Youth Service.

AQA Nationally Accredited Awards

Sport Support Education & Training works in partnership with Campus Luton to offer an AQA accredited unit award in both sports and outdoor recreation leadership. These awards can either be delivered over a period of a few weeks, with a short session each week, as part of the Active Adventure day and residential camps, or as a stand alone sports workshop.

The AQA awards offer a wide range of different options allowing Sport Support Education & Training to deliver them as part of any programme. We will happily design delivery to fit in with the specific needs of your learner group.

OCN Nationally Accredited Award

We currently deliver OCN awards in numeracy and literacy through our Key Stage 4 and post 16 programmes. These Level 1 awards provide a foundation in these subjects and give the learner a basic achievement. The awards are delivered in conjunction with Bedfordshire & Luton Education and Business Partnership.

We would be happy to discuss ways in which we can offer these awards to individuals or groups of learners, either as stand alone awards or as part of a bigger programme of learning.
